Nathan Rode is a seasoned baseball professional with nearly two decades of experience spanning between journalism and scouting. He began his career at Baseball America as the high school editor, playing a key role in MLB Draft coverage and interviewing future stars like Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Gerrit Cole and Byron Buxton. In 2013, he joined Prep Baseball Report, where he expanded his national presence, launched a podcast, and developed multiple web series, further cementing his influence in amateur baseball coverage.

After 15 years in media, Nathan transitioned fully into scouting, spending two years as an underclass scout for the New York Mets. There, he helped the department prepare for upcoming drafts by identifying and evaluating future talent. Of the top 50 picks in the 2024 MLB Draft, Nathan scouted 28 of them, including four of the Mets’ top five picks.

His deep knowledge of player evaluation and the draft process, as well as the media landscape, leads him to Semper9, where he continues to leverage his expertise to support and represent the next generation of baseball talent.
